The Pro model introduces hardware sensors that provide a much more tactile and efficient creative experience:
Squeeze Gesture: A new sensor in the barrel allows you to squeeze the pencil to bring up a tool palette, letting you switch tools, line weights, and colors without touching the screen.
Barrel Roll: An internal gyroscope allows you to rotate the pencil to change the orientation of shaped pen and brush tools, just like a real pen.
Haptic Feedback: You will feel a light pulse (vibration) when you squeeze the barrel or double-tap, confirming your action.
Find My Support: This is the first Apple Pencil that can be tracked in the Find My app if you misplace it.
Precision & Latency: Like the previous generation, it maintains pixel-perfect precision, tilt sensitivity, and industry-leading low latency.
Critical Compatibility Check
This is the most important correction. The Apple Pencil Pro is not compatible with the 3rd Generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro or any iPad Pro older than 2024. It only works with:
iPad Pro 13-inch (M4 and M5 models)
iPad Pro 11-inch (M4 and M5 models)
iPad Air 13-inch (M2 and M3 models)
iPad Air 11-inch (M2 and M3 models)
iPad mini (A17 Pro)
